Well our team got "commissioned" on May 2nd at Glenn Park Church. They prayed over us along with two other teams going on international trips--one group going to Kenya and one group gong to Taiwan. Now I feel "official." It was nice to have the blessing and prayers of the church elders. They also assured us that they would pray for us while we were gone. We took our first "team photo" which is now posted on our blog. I joked thtat this was our "before" picture--we'll see what we look like "after" we get back. I'm sure we'll be exhausted and hopefully wiser. The verses in our hard copy journal are certainly appropriate. Psalms 121:7-8. I pray that God will keep us from all harm, that He will watch over our lives, that He will watch over our comings and goings as we leave the U.S. for a country, and nation and people group so very different from our own. Prov 4:11-12 I pray that God will guide us in the way of wisdom and lead us on straight paths. When we walk, may our steps not be hampered, and when we run, may we not stumble.
